I swear he doesn’t do this every night. ;)

Everyone is doing this picture meme and since I need a short break from studying, I decided to do it too. The way it works:
1. Go to the 4th picture folder on your computer.
2. Post the 4th picture in that folder.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag 4 more people.
Here’s my picture:

This picture was taking a few weeks after the guys came home while we were celebrating a Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas party at the Outdoor Recreation Center on post. Collin and his Army buddies like to be very affectionate with each other after spending 15 months together day in day out.
It’s like they are all married to each other.
I gotta go back to studying. But before I do that, I would like to tag everyone who would like to participate!
Christmas in Pictures

I can’t believe Christmas is already over again. It was really nice spending it with Collin’s family. Here are some pictures:

I hope you all had a nice Christmas.
Back from Austria.
August 17, 2008
I have been back from Austria for a week now. It was such a fun and adventurous vacation. We pretty much went on different hiking routes every single day except for one day that we spent at the swimming pool since the weather was really sucky. All in all, we probably hiked a total of over 40 miles if not more. Instead of writing where we hiked every day, I decided to just post some pictures. Here we go:
The first day shortly after we arrived: We already needed a bench to rest.
Of course, after reaching the Alpine hut we had to have some coffee and cake there.
On day 2 we reached our first peak.
After that we hiked to another Alpine hut. This picture was taken along the way and reminds me of an outdoor clothing ad.
The well-deserved lunch after a four-hour hike and before our long descent that was still ahead of us.
The dog of my dreams and I.
The whole family: me, my dad, my mom and my sister.
One day it was raining all day, so we decided to go to the swimming pool.
My sister and I underneath a glacier.
This was taken during our last hike. Shortly thereafter we got lost because the hiking path wasn’t marked anymore. We ended up taking some mysterious trail that lead us to the next village where we were surprised by a huge thunder storm. Trust me… it wasn’t fun. I was scared to death.
And here it ends. I want to take Collin here or maybe go somewhere else in the Alps. I would love to do a hiking vacation where you just hike from one Alpine hut to another and spend the night there. We will see how much time we have after he gets back.
Austria here I come.

It’s finally over! I made it through this semester and it feels so good to be done. It was so stressful at certain times but looking back now it all seems so far away and I just can’t believe that I didn’t quit, collapse or go crazy during that time. I feel so relieved now.
Today my grades were posted and I couldn’t be happier. All the studying paid off and I thought last semester went great but this one went even better (FYI: In Germany 1,0 = A and 4,0 = D).
This weekend I will be heading to Austria with my parents and my sister. We are going to do lots of hiking there which I am looking forward to so much. I love hiking and exploring the mountains and my sister is actually a really good buddy when it comes to hiking. She loves it as well. Hehe, at least one thing we have in common.
Time for summer.
May 1, 2008
Spring is finally here and it feels great. I started running again. In fact I have been since Easter which was about a little over five weeks ago. I have been doing great and have been running almost every other day with a few breaks in between due to my knee hurting. My goal is to just keep going and maybe do a race one day. One of my friends in school asked me if I wanted to participate in this years discrict race that is taking place this weekend but I passed since I don’t feel quite ready for it yet. The Army is having a 5k fun-run next weekend though which I might participate in. We’ll see.
Since my last post it feels like time is picking up again and days are finally starting to go by a little faster. Collin and I have been sending emails to each other a lot but phone calls have been very limited. In fact, we only had the chance to talk twice within the passed three weeks. But receiving emails almost every day makes up for it and it is not as bad as it sounds. We have been discussing about investing into a couple road bikes. Collin’s Cannondale road bike is almost 10 years old and it is time for a new one. And since I like roadbiking too, we are thinking of getting two new ones. The only problem is the price. We want a good one – preferrably Cannondale bikes again - which means paying $1000 or more a piece. I have been looking into a few and there are only three models that we could actually afford ranging from $1000 to $1350 per bike (note: the most expensive one is $9999 and looks amazing).

So we’ll see how much we can save up.
It would be awesome for this summer and I could get into roadbiking shape until Collin comes home and then we could go on rides together.
New hair… and it is not just a trim.
February 21, 2008
So here we go. I finally got my hair done and it turned out to be a complete makeover. I am so happy with the result. First i just wanted a trim but instead I decided to go for the famous Victoria Beckham bob. It was a spontaneous idea and sometimes I love being spontaneous.

Home improvement.

I just wanted to share a picture of our new curtains in our living room. I finally got rid of the old string curtains from the previous renter. It is looking so much better now. I love it!
